Almost 2 years ago we have started our blog to share with you the best cleaning recipes and practices. We wanted to help people improve their life by posting the useful tips for home maintenance. Today’s post is different. We admire people and organisations that want to make a difference in their community. This is why we decided to join the cause of Haven House and donate £3 every time we are hired to do a cleaning job.

What is Haven House?

Haven House is a hospice that helps and supports children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions at no cost to the individuals and their families. Over the years Haven House has supported more than 600 families – providing care for children, parents and siblings. The charity offers a wide range of services including music therapy, therapeutic yoga, physiotherapy, complementary therapies, counselling, social work, coffee mornings for parents, play, Buddies (a sibling support group) and toy home loan.

Why are we Supporting Haven House?

“A society will be judged on the basis of how it treats its weakest members”. We firmly believe, that the responsibility of the most vulnerable members of our society lays not only on the government but also on all of us. Children with life-limiting conditions and their families are among the most vulnerable groups in our society and they deserve a dignified, full and happy life. We decided to donate £3 for every cleaning job we do, because we know that Haven House provides professional care and a supportive environment to all children and their families.

How to Help?

Haven House works with children and families from North and North East London, West Essex and East Hertfordshire. There are many ways to get involved and support the hospice and you can view them on the Haven House website:

Here are just a few of the ways you can get involved:

Make a Donation

Haven House services are free for patients and their families. NHS and local authorities cover only 25% of the costs of the hospice. You can make a difference and help Haven House continue their work by making a one off or regular donation. No matter how big or small, every donation helps the workers provide proper care and fun activities to children with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions.

Pay for a Day of Care

Every child deserves a childhood and Haven House staff knows this! This is why, besides the healthcare, the hospice offers fun and engaging activities for its little patients and their siblings. By donating or fundraising for a day of care, you can help Haven House provide care, support and quality life for local life-limited children.

Volunteer

Everyone can help Haven Hose by simply giving their time and skills! Haven House needs proactive individuals for all their activities – helpers in the gardens, drivers, event supporters, individuals with marketing and business skills – everyone is welcome to join the volunteering team and help hospice’s cause.

Provide Specialised Toys

Many of Haven House children have limited movement or need to improve their co-ordination and sensory skills. This is why hospice’s workers prepared a list of specialised toys that are not only fun, but also benefit and assist children’s condition.

Time to Make a Difference Campaign

No parent should face alone the difficulties of looking after a child with life-limiting condition. Haven House started Time to Make a Difference campaign with the sole purpose to inform the local community about the hospice and to highlight the many different ways people can support children and their families. By joining the cause you can help making a difference in your local community and become the change that you wish to see in the world.
